Dear Â鶹´«Ã½ community:

Thank you for your patience as we work to address the global Canvas security incident. We recognize the impact that this incident has had on our students, faculty and staff.

Canvas at Â鶹´«Ã½ remained unavailable today, Friday, May 8, 2026.

While Instructure has advised that the security incident has been contained and remediated, the UC Office of the President is working with each campus to make risk-based decisions about when to restore access to Canvas. Given that UC Berkeley and UC Merced’s instances of Canvas are accessible again, we are cautiously optimistic that we will be back online soon.

In the interim, helpful resources for instructors can be found on the .

We will continue to share updates as soon as they are available on the .
