C.N. Gorman Museum Content / C.N. Gorman Museum Content for 鶹ý en Weekender: Art and Music Together; Mural, Jazz and a Valentine /arts/blog/weekender-art-and-music-together-mural-jazz-and-valentine
Welcome to the 鶹ý Arts Blog as everyone prepares for the President's Day weekend and Valentine's Day. There is a lot of great art and music, as well as cinema, in store. And you can get ready to paint a mural on campus — a project that lets anyone be an artist. I leave you with a Valentine box of candy. It's porcelain, but oh-so-real down to the untouched paper cradles. I also consider it a Valentine tribute for a wonderful 鶹ý alumna and artist who died this past fall, Sandy Shannonhouse. She left us so much beauty.
February 12, 2026 - 8:18am Karen Michele Nikos-Rose /arts/blog/weekender-art-and-music-together-mural-jazz-and-valentine Photographic and Multimedia Artworks by Shelley Niro on View at Gorman Museum, 鶹ý /news/photographic-and-multimedia-artworks-shelley-niro-view-gorman-museum-uc-davis
The Gorman Museum of Native American Art at the University of California, Davis, has on view photographic and multimedia artwork by award-winning artist Shelley Niro.
February 10, 2026 - 10:40am Karen Michele Nikos-Rose /news/photographic-and-multimedia-artworks-shelley-niro-view-gorman-museum-uc-davis Weekender: Chicana/o Film Series at TANA; 'Cara and Diego' at Crocker /arts/blog/weekender-chicanao-film-series-tana-cara-and-diego-crocker
El Norte in film series tonight at TANA

Thursday, July 3, 2025 , 6:30 – 8 p.m

TANA, 1224 Lemen Ave., Woodland, free, no registration required

Tonight TANA 鶹ý presents El Norte (1983), directed by Gregory Nava — a groundbreaking story of two siblings, Enrique and Rosa, who escape persecution in Guatemala and journey north to the United States.
July 03, 2025 - 10:01am Karen Michele Nikos-Rose /arts/blog/weekender-chicanao-film-series-tana-cara-and-diego-crocker Ongoing Art at 鶹ý: Spring 2025 /arts/blog/ongoing-art-davis-spring-2025
Selections from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection at the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art

On display until June 22 at the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art
April 30, 2025 - 2:58pm Jamie Gelfond /arts/blog/ongoing-art-davis-spring-2025 The 鶹ý Gorman Museum of Native American Art Celebrates 20 Years of Photography /news/gorman-photography-exhibition-announcement
More than two dozen Indigenous artists from North America, Aotearoa and Australia from a diversity of backgrounds will be represented at the Gorman Museum of Native American Art’s new exhibition at the University of California, Davis. “Reflecting Lenses: Twenty Years of Photography at the Gorman Museum” opens Wednesday, March 6.

The pieces are highlights of the Gorman photography collection alongside new works on loan from several artists.
