The University of California, Davis, has launched the next phase of its campaign highlighting the value of federally funded research, From Labs to Lives, as threats to research funding continue — putting at risk future lifesaving cures, U.S. leadership in technology and innovation and jobs.

The University of California, Davis, received $961 million in external research awards for the fiscal year 2024-25. The funding, from various sources, supports a broad range of research to transform lives and communities as illustrated in the newly released annual Research Impact Report.

$2.7M for Digital Health Equity and Future Pandemic Preparedness

The University of California, Davis, will receive $2.7 million for two projects that advance digital health equity and future pandemic preparedness following the passage of federal spending legislation.

The projects include $1.7 million for �鶹��ý Health’s Digital Health Equity Program and $1 million to help �鶹��ý establish a Future Pandemic Prevention and Rapid Response Institute.

�鶹��ý Sponsored Research Funding Increases to $783 Million

The University of California, Davis, received $783 million in external research funding for fiscal year 2016-17, up $23 million from the previous year. �鶹��ý remained fourth overall among University of California campuses, which received a combined total of $6.08 billion from all external sponsors during fiscal year 2016-17, about 1 percent above the previous year.

“It’s clear that public agencies and private companies are depending on �鶹��ý’ innovative spirit and expertise to help solve some of the world’s biggest challenges,” said Chancellor Gary S. May.
