After representing more than 230,000 of her peers as UC Student Association president, Celene Aridin is ready to take her advocacy to the global stage. The 2024 �鶹��ý graduate joins an elite cadre of 150 scholars from around the world who will study China’s emerging role in global affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing as a 2025 Schwarzman Scholar.

In their first major commitment to �鶹��ý, philanthropists Kellie and Jeff Hepper ’79 have pledged $1 million to create the Hepper Family Exhibition Fund, an endowed gift to support the core exhibition work of the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art.

Alumnus Charles Rice Wins Nobel Prize for Medicine

Charles M. Rice, who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, is a recipient of the 2020 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine announced this morning (Oct. 5).

“I’m delighted to see the work of one of our alumni honored with a Nobel Prize,” �鶹��ý Chancellor Gary S. May said. “On behalf of the entire �鶹��ý family, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Professor Rice. His research and dedication inspire us. This is who we are.”
